Diocesan Pastoral Ministries:
- provides support for parishes in their pastoral planning in line with the Diocesan Pastoral Plan (DPP)
- supports the work of the Council for Mission (CFM) and other diocesan councils - Adult Faith Formation Council, Ecumenical and Interfaith Council, Liturgy Council, Social Justice Council, Diocesan Council of Ministry with Young People and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Ministry.
- supports the many diocesan pastoral ministries including, Chaplaincy in Hospital, Prison, Port, and University of Newcastle, Season for Growth, Marriage Education, Natural Fertility, Youth and Children Ministries.
- networks with other ministries such as the Council for Australian Catholic Women (CACW-MN), Hunter Interfaith Network, Hunter Community Alliance and Hunter Social Justice Network.
- connects with Apostolic Groups such as St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Women’s League, Caritas Australia and Catholic Missions.
The Director of Pastoral Ministries leads a team of people who support God’s mission of healing, support, outreach, formation, worship and connection. These ministries are captured within the five foundations.
