Youth

Youth are a valuable asset to any church community. Bringing fresh ideas and an enthusiasm and willingness to want to assist in furthering the mission of our diocese, not only benefits the church, but also the individual who connects with their community and further develops as a person of integrity, compassion, faith and wisdom.

Youth make up a large, energetic and proactive part of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle, with a number of fantastic initiatives being offered in parishes designed for youth, by youth. Working alongside parishioners, school groups, clergy and our Bishop, a number of youth groups regularly gather and invite participants to look at what issues face young people currently connected to the church, and what can to be done to invite more young people to connect with their faith, particularly after they leave school.
