Rugby Union Greats On Side with Two Bishops
Trust
The
Captain and Coach of Australias first winning Rugby World
Cup team will visit Newcastle next Tuesday August 19 in support
of the Two Bishops Trust.
Nick Farr-Jones
and Bob Dwyer will feature as guest speakers at a fundraising
luncheon hosted by Charlestown Bowling Club, thanks to the generous
assistance of Australian Rugby Union (ARU).
The luncheon
will raise vital funds for the continued work of the Two Bishops
Trust. Established in 1998, the Trust aims to inspire and unite
the whole community to find workable, just and creative solutions
to unemployment in the Hunter.
In this
year of the Rugby World Cup, its an excellent opportunity
to join these two Rugby greats for a sumptuous lunch and an inspirational
message, said David Baker, Two Bishops Trust Project Development
Coordinator.
Before
the luncheon, Nick Farr-Jones and Bob Dwyer will visit Hunter
Sports High to celebrate the introduction of Rugby Union into
the school. At the school, they will gather informally with students
from Hunter Sports High School, St Marys High School Gateshead
and Swansea High School.
The
visit of these two sportsmen will inspire many young men and women
from the Eastlakes area who may be affected by unemployment and
low income.
A range of
Australian Rugby Union memorabilia will be auctioned and raffled
by local Rugby Union identity Mr Tom Towers at the luncheon.
For bookings
and tickets contact Charlestown Bowling Club on Ph: (02) 4943
