Two Bishops Trust Helps Small Businesses
Grow in Upper Hunter
An
innovative Two Bishops Trust project that aims to boost small
business in the Upper Hunter has received support from the Commonwealth
Government and local businesses.
This is a
Commonwealth Government funded service under the Small Business
Enterprise Culture Program and will enable the Two Bishops Trust
Muswellbrook Project to provide mentoring services to eight existing
Muswellbrook home-based business who have the capacity to grow
and increase staffing numbers.
The project
will link the successful businesses with a comprehensive range
of mentoring services, including business planning development,
financial systems, contracting, Occupational Health & Safety
and Human Resource systems as well as E Records and E Commerce.
Phoebe Begg,
Coordinator of the Two Bishops Trust Muswellbrook Project, said
that the grant would assist the Trust to provide mentoring and
support to small business operators.
"Small
business operators who are home-based face a range of obstacles
including access to information and support and this project is
a practical response.
"The
Best Chance of Success project provides the eight successful
home based businesses with mentoring support to enable them to
overcome all the legal requirements that face small businesses
and grow," Ms Begg said.
Local businesses
Gowings and Co, Hallets Solicitors and Firetech Resources have
assisted the project by providing in kind support.
The Two Bishops
Trust has operated in since March 2001 with funding from the Coal
and Allied Community Trust. The Two Bishops Trust aims to inspire
and unite the whole community to find workable, just and creative
solutions to unemployment in the Hunter region.
