University of Newcastle Honours Archbishop
Wilson
In recognition
of his service to the Church and wider community, the University
of Newcastle has honoured Adelaide's Archbishop Philip Wilson
with a Doctorate of Letters honoris causa.
Archbishop
Wilson, who was born and raised in Cessnock, is well known to
many in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
He was ordained
a priest to the Maitland Diocese in 1975. In 1996 he was appointed
as the Bishop of Wollongong and in 2001, he became the eighth
Archbishop of Adelaide.Congratulations
