Partnership Fuels Jobs for Cessnock People
An innovative partnership between the Two Bishops Trust and leading hospitality employers, to be announced tonight, is set to create 20 jobs for Cessnock residents.

The CHIPS Project will provide training opportunities for motivated young and mature-aged people from the Cessnock area, which will help to bridge the divide between Pokolbin and the Cessnock community.

Through training and workplace mentoring, participants will develop valuable skills in preparation for employment in the Hospitality Sector.

A number of prestigious businesses have joined the project including Hunter Valley Gardens, Harrigan's Irish Pub, Cyprus Lakes, Peppers Guest House, Pepper Tree Vineyards, Tempus Two Winery, Draytons Family Wines, Tyrrell's Wines, Tuscany Estate and The Vintage Golf Course.

The project will be announced at Hunter Valley Gardens tonight amongst supporters of the Trust, Anglican Bishop Roger Herft, Catholic Bishop Michael Malone and leaders of the Hospitality Industry.

At the event the Trust will also launch "Friends of the Two Bishops Trust", an initiative that encourages all members of the community to help tackle unemployment in the Hunter Region.

"By becoming a friend of the Two Bishops Trust, anyone can make a difference in reducing the impact of unemployment in our region," said Two Bishops Trust Project Development Coordinator, David Baker.

Individuals, community organisations, business or government can become a friend of the Trust by pledging their support in ways suit their circumstances including financial support, in-kind support, raising funds, or donating their time as a business mentor to a small-business that the Trust sponsors.

Current friends of the Trust include Hunter Valley Gardens, Enigma Advertising, Charlestown Bowling Club, Australian Rugby Union, Weston Workers Club, Coal and Allied, Microsoft, Peter Doyle Cellars and Anglican and Catholic parishes, who support the Trust in a variety of ways.

To become a friend of the Trust phone David Baker from the Two Bishops Trust on 0419 250 691 for more information.

The event will recognise current friends of the Trust and celebrate its achievements over the past five years.
