Bishops' Call to Join the Fight Against
Unemployment
Friends
old and new will gather with Anglican Bishop Roger Herft and Catholic
Bishop Michael Malone this Thursday at the launch of a special
project to demonstrate their support for the Two Bishops Trust
in the fight against unemployment.
"Friends
of The Two Bishops Trust", an initiative that gives all members
of the community the chance to be a partner in tackling unemployment
in the Hunter Region, will be launched at Hunter Valley Gardens'
Conference Centre at 5pm.
According
to Two Bishops Trust Project Development Coordinator, David Baker,
"Anyone can become a friend of the Trust and make a difference
in reducing the impact of unemployment on our region".
"Individuals,
community organisations, business or government can become a friend
by pledging their support in ways suit their circumstances."

of the Two Bishops Trust include:

- Australian
Rugby Union

Allied
- Microsoft
- Peter Doyle
Cellars

Anglican and Catholic parishes
- Anglican
and Catholic parish volunteers who actively support Trust projects
through fundraising, offering their skills as mentors to unemployed
people, donation of goods and services etc.
"The
launch is an opportunity to welcome new friends and acknowledge
those individuals, groups and organisations who have been a friend
and supported the work of the Trust over the past five years.
It will be a celebration of the Trust's achievements!" said
Mr Baker.
An exciting
employment partnership in the Cessnock region between the Two
Bishops Trust and the biggest employers in the Cessnock Hospitality
Industry, including Hunter Valley Gardens and Harrigan's Irish
Pub, will also be announced at the event.
