Well
Known Biblical Lecturer to Unpack Genesis
Not sure how to make sense of the stories from the early chapters
of Genesis? Not sure how to answer your children's (or grandchildren's)
questions? How, why and when was the Old Testament written?
During November
well known biblical studies lecturer Dr Antoinette Collins will
present two workshops in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle on
the topic "Understanding Genesis".
The workshops
are open to all people but are particularly aimed at those people
who teach religious education in our state schools.
During her
workshops at Kotara South and Forster, Dr Collins will present
an overview of how and when the Bible was written and then discuss
some recent research on the early chapters of Genesis.
Dr Collins,
who has a background in primary school education, studied at Oxford
University on the Book of Genesis. She has taught at the University
of Sydney and St Paul's National Seminary Kensington. She currently
teaches biblical studies at the Australian Catholic University.
