Festival Events Celebrate Two Bishops Trust Achievements

In various parts of the Hunter next week, three community events will provide p
eople with opportunities to celebrate the work and achievements of the Two Bishops Trust over the past twelve months.

These events are part of the Two Bishops Trust Festival of Sharing, an annual month-long campaign which aims to generate a greater awareness of unemployment, and encourage people to become involved in creating solutions.

The communities of Muswellbrook, Cessnock, and Windale, Booragul, Bolton Point are warmly invited to come along to special BBQs on September 16, 17 and 18, respectively.

A special liturgy of thanksgiving, prepared by the Windale Catholic and Anglican parishes, will also be held on September 18.

According to Bishop Michael Malone, "The community BBQs are an opportunity to celebrate the work of the Trust, but they're also a great chance for people to share their experiences about unemployment and make connections in an informal environment."

During the gatherings those involved with the work of the Two Bishops Trust will be available to talk about the projects but also listen to the ideas and opinions of community members.

Bishop Michael Malone (Catholic Bishop of Maitland-Newcastle) and Bishop Graeme Rutherford (Anglican Assistant Bishop of Newcastle) will also be present. As with last year's BBQ events, the bishops will personally serve sausages to those who come along to thank them for their commitment to the Two Bishops Trust.

Commemorating its fourth anniversary in 2002, the Two Bishops Trust aims to inspire and unite the whole community to find workable, just and creative solutions to unemployment. It is a collaborative venture between the Hunter's Catholic and Anglican Churches.
