Tomorrow
afternoon, Tuesday, 5 December, the sporting achievements of Catholic
Primary School students from the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter
and Manning areas will be acknowledged during a Church service
at the Sacred Heart Cathedral.
The celebration aims to recognise and congratulate Primary School

Area) and State levels.
Special guests who will present awards to students during the
liturgy include: Newcastle Knights' Sean Rudder; Paralympic Swimmer,
Alicia Jenkins; Olympic Basketball player Natalie Ward; Newcastle
Softball player Butch Hayes, NSW Netball player Reagan Jackson;
and Director of Catholic Education, Mr Michael Bowman.
Phillip McCann, president of the Primary School Sports Association,
says that "the students will receive awards in a large range
of sports including Athletics, Swimming, Cross Country, Netball,
Soccer, Cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Basketball, Softball,
Hockey, Touch Football, Tennis and Australian Football League.
Jacquelyn Bridgwater, a student at St Columban's Primary School,
