Jubilee
Celebration of Cultural Diversity
As
Beaumont Street moves to the rhythm of Fiesta, this Sunday, another
significant celebration of cultural diversity takes place at Newcastle's
City Hall.
Twelve nationalities representing every continent, will celebrate
their culture in song and dance.
Many of the performers participated in Sydney's unforgettable
Olympic 2000 celebrations.
Catholic Bishop, Michael Malone, will join Aboriginal Elders,
representatives from six of our local churches, Hunter Federal
and State politicians and many of our local Mayors to celebrate
multiculturalism.
This year, Christians celebrate a Year of Great Jubilee. Jubilee
calls us to celebrate 2000 years of the presence of Christ in
our world, our history, and our personal lives.
Nationalities represented include: Aboriginal, Maori, Tongan,
English, Welsh, German, Greek, African, Latin American, Vietnamese,
Italian and Australian.
Our celebration of cultural diversity will be hosted by Prime
Television's Brett Lavering.
Don't miss the final Jubilee celebration!
Where: Newcastle City Hall
When: Sunday October 15, 2pm
