World-Wide Presence for Local Diocese
The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is happy to announce its new website.

The site is packed with information about diocesan activities, agencies and organisations.

According to Mr John Feenan, Director of Corporate Services, "the website is an excellent forum for us to communicate our ideas and activities to the world! If we are serious about communicating the Gospel, we have to embrace contemporary technology like the Internet".

Highlights of the website include a directory of all diocesan agencies and services, the recently released report on Pastoral Planning in the diocese - New Wine into Fresh Wineskins - and the homilies, pastoral letters and addresses from Bishop Michael Malone.

It also contains useful links to Australian and overseas Church-related resources and information.

John Feenan says that the World Wide Web is a unique and valuable communication tool because it enhances internal and external communication at the same time: "this website enables us to communicate the plans, priorities and vision of the diocese to the world at large.

Equally importantly, we are looking forward to exploring the possibilities of the 'Intranet'. This technology will allow faster and more effective two-way communication between the fifty parishes and the agencies and organisations of the diocese".

The website can be found at www.mn.catholic.org.au
