Education Forum for People Working in Aged Care
Employees from Catholic Care of the Aged (CCA) will be involved for the next two days in CCA's Staff Forum. As well as participating in group work to support the care of older people, they have been invited to contribute to the organisation's strategic planning process.

Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ralph Watson said that the Staff Forum provided an excellent opportunity for those involved at the face of aged care to contribute in a very positive way to the future direction of the organisation.

"We are very privileged to work with older people in our community and for CCA continuous quality improvement in our service is vital. Our carers who work with the frail and elderly are in a great position to suggest improvements," he said.

The two-day forum will encompass everyday experiences of the various facilities and service areas, as well as group work and a panel discussion based on a paper by Elizabeth MacKinley on the "Spiritual Journeys of Older people". The forum will conclude with a Graduation Ceremony, presentation of Accreditation Certificates and Awards Presentation.

Mr Watson praised the efforts of his staff who have greatly contributed to the organisation's success with Accreditation.

"Catholic Care of the Aged have outstanding staff and they ensure outstanding care and support for the aged people we work with," he said.
