"E"
Team Tackles Transport Issue
St
Martin De Porres Hostel , Waratah, has this week hosted the 'E'
Team. The E Team Program, organised by the Australian Quality
Council, provides consultancy training for teams of high school
students to analyse workplace dilemmas or procedures to find solutions
or improvements.
At St Martin's this week, five year eleven students from Cardiff
High School have been investigating transport options for residents
at the Hostel.
Manager of St Martin's, Leah Sattler, praised the efforts of the
team.
"We are looking forward to the findings of the Team. Transport
for our residents is an important issue and I am confident that
we will get some young, fresh ideas to solve our dilemma,"
Ms Sattler said.
Students have employed a number of marketing strategies to reach
their final recommendations. Student, Lisa MacLean said that training
provided by the Australian Quality Council, along with a procedures
manual, set out excellent guidelines for the team to follow.
"Interviewing residents has been a very positive experience,
not only for obtaining relevant information but also to see how
happy they are at St Martin's. I'm also sure that they have enjoyed
having us in their hostel this week," she said.
All will be unveiled by the five impressive representatives from
Cardiff High on Friday afternoon at 1.30.
