Celebrating 180 Years of Service in the Diocese
Pope John Paul II declared 2 February as "Consecrated Life Day" to draw attention to religious life and witness to vocations. In February of each year the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese has a Mass in order to acknowledge and celebrate religious life.

The Mass this year will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Hamilton on Friday 21 February. In particular, tribute will be paid this year to the Dominican Sisters and the St John of God Brothers who will celebrate 130 and 50 years, respectively, of commitment and service to the people of the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese.

Mass will be presided by Bishop Michael Malone and priests of the diocese beginning at 7pm.

Celebrations will continue after the Mass with supper in Bishop Clarke House. All are warmly invited to participate in this occasion.
