STORY - "Searching for a meaning in life? Seeking a place to ask your big questions?"
By Geoff Mulhearn on behalf of the Pearl Seekers Team.

If so, the Pearl Seekers may be the place for you. The Pearl Seekers project provides a place for those who ask questions that are not being addressed adequately and those who feel the need to be heard and want to share their experiences and reflections.

Who are the Pearl Seekers? They are not people heading to Broome or to Nelson Bay ! They are people who meet as equals to search together for the mystery at the heart of reality. They meet, either online or face to face, around issues significant to them in an attempt to search together for a way of relating their lives and their faith. By freely sharing their stories, their experiences, their insights and their feelings they hope for deeper insights into meaning in life.

Pearl Seekers also hope for closer relationships with self, with others, and with the cosmos. In this chaotic world there is a yearning for a place where each of us can belong, move freely and peacefully, be heard and be trusted; a place where scientific views and religious beliefs are not rejected as being incompatible.

The Pearl Seekers is a project being developed by a team of dedicated people whose idea of leadership is to listen to and to help people search together. The hope is that this searching together will lead to greater clarity about the mystery of Spirit and to our engaging in meaningful action for a just and peaceful world.

Pearl Seekers Online: It is important that the church, along with other community groups, use modern methods of communication to reach people whose questions and needs are not being currently met by the normal church processes. Those interested in meeting online are invited to visit the Pearl Seekers website: www.pearlseekers.com.au and to check out the range of online topics. The website is also a source of information about all aspects of the Pearl Seekers project, including vision and values.
