Witnessed by clergy, representatives of various diocesan councils, staff and students from San Clemente, St Dominic’s and St Columban’s, diocesan staff, architects, builders and most importantly some of the residents who will call the new complex home, Bishop Bill said he was very proud of the new facilities.
“In keeping with Catholic teaching and long-established practice, our diocese strives to assist and support people in the community who have special needs or vulnerabilities as we contribute to building a harmonious and inclusive society,” Bishop Bill said.
The choir from St Columban’s and St Dominic’s entertained those gathered with some songs, including an acapella version of Lean On Me. Some food technology students from San Clemente utilised the on-site barbeque facilities to produce a wonderful meal for residents and guests on the central village green where it is hoped residents will get to know each other in the future.
