On Wednesday 10 September the Tenison Woods Education Centre is collaborating with CatholicCare Social Services Hunter-Manning in presenting an evening called Foster Care – Stories from the Heart at the Cathedral Function Centre in Newcastle West.
This topic has been chosen as statistics show that there is a marked rise in the number of children in Australia needing out-of-home care. The aim of the evening is to raise awareness of the issues around foster care which is such a significant issue in our society.
Arrangements have been made for a birth parent, a young person who has previously been in foster care, and current foster carers to tell their stories. Jill Emberson from 1233 ABC Newcastle will facilitate the evening.
The evening will begin at 6.00pm. Cost is $20 which includes light refreshments. To RSVP E firstname.lastname@example.org or P 4930 9601.
