Pints with a Purpose, held on the first Monday evening of each month at the Kent Hotel, Hamilton, is a gathering of people to explore their Catholic faith and engage in meaningful dialogue as a community. The event brings guest speakers from both within and beyond the diocese to speak on a subject of significance to them, and particular interest to young people. The guest speaker for Monday 5 May is Kath Evans.
In the 1990's Kathleen Evans was diagnosed with a non-small-cell carcinoma in her right lung. Further testing revealed that the cancer had spread and Kath was given at best a couple of months to live. With no hope left but prayer, Kath and her family and friends began a novena asking Mary MacKillop to pray to God with them on Kath's behalf. Miraculously Kath began to get stronger until 10 months from her initial diagnosis, tests revealed no sign of the cancer at all.
Come along to Pints with a Purpose on Monday 5 May at the Kent Hotel, Hamilton to listen to Kath share her part in the Mary MacKillop story. Dinner is at 6:30pm, talk begins at 7:30pm. People of all ages are welcome to join.
