A blessed afternoon with Steve Angrisano

Chisholm Region recently welcomed world-renowned singer, songwriter and storyteller Steve Angrisano on his second national tour of Australia.

A blessed afternoon with Steve Angrisano

After leading a workshop for all ages at East Maitland, Steve joined with local musicians and the entire faith community at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Beresfield at the Saturday evening celebration which included Confirmation and First Eucharist with Bishop Bill.

The workshop was well received and a highly animated group enjoyed the input and engaged wholeheartedly with Steve throughout the afternoon.

Moderator of Chisholm Region, Fr Paul O’Neill said, "I really valued the witness of his life stories and the joy of his music.”

Other participants shared their experiences too:

"Steve's music and personal witness open up the theology of being Christian and translate it into the reality of being human. Yet another fun, emotional and uplifting encounter. Thank you and see you next year."

James (East Maitland)

"Wonderful music, songs and tales. Thank you."

Jenny (Kurri Kurri)

"Steve has a great message of bringing the joy of the Gospel to young people. His energetic style and faith-filled stories about life and the ups and downs of the human journey struck a chord with his audience. His ability to energise and revitalise people's faith was certainly witnessed here today."

Michael O'Brien (RE & Spirituality Team, CSO)

At Our Lady of Lourdes Beresfield, Steve joined the evening liturgy, leading the assembly in several of his songs which were more than well received by the community throughout the Confirmation and First Eucharist celebrations.

"Having Steve Angrisano share his incredibly moving and uplifting music with us gave a very special dimension to the reverence and sacredness of our sacramental celebrations."

Mary-Anne Howard (parish musician)

Steve willingly engages enthusiastically with everyone he meets. He shares significant spiritual experiences and life lessons which have influenced the creation of his contemporary music today.

From the man himself, "Something very sacred happened here tonight and I was honoured to be a part of it. Thank you for a very special night."
