On Palm Sunday, hundreds of people gathered in the beautiful surrounds of St Joseph's Parish, Kilaben Bay, to participate in the Annual Ecumenical Way of the Cross. Bishop Bill, parishioners and members of different faiths joined students, staff and parents from diocesan Catholic schools to recreate the final hours of Jesus' life, his painful death and joyful resurrection.
Fourteen schools, a mix of primary and secondary students, enacted the different stations and demonstrated the suffering of Jesus, which Diocesan Vice Chancellor of Pastoral Ministries, Teresa Brierley described as "a powerful reminder of his humanity and grace". The crowd was guided around the grounds of St Joseph's by young pilgrims carrying the World Youth Day cross.
