Tighes Hill welcome to Pope Francis

Tighes Hill parish finds a novel way to congratulate Pope Francis on his new appointment.

Tighes Hill welcome to Pope Francis

The Church community at Tighes Hill had a problem when it wanted to send a card to Pope Francis to mark the occasion of his election. The problem was what type of card to send – would the newsagent have a "new Pope" card?

The closest we could find was a card titled “You Have A New Job”. There were other new job cards,  many trying to be funny, but the wording and some of the pictures were definitely not suitable for a Pope.

The card just needed the addition of some more appropriate pictures on the front cover and some pictures on the back cover to make clear who had sent the card.

The card was offered to parishioners to sign after Mass over a couple of weeks and many positive messages were left - some even in Italian.

One thing is certain this highly unique card will be noticed by the Pope’s office!
