Taree CatholicCare celebrates 'Biggest Morning Tea'

The ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ was held on Thursday 30 May to raise much needed funds for the Cancer Council.

Approximately 25 people came through the doors of the office to share morning tea and donate a few dollars. Taree staff each brought a plate of ‘yellow’ food – a spread of yellow tarts, yellow custard with banana, yellow drinks, yellow decorated cupcakes and even yellow chips!

"On the day we held a pumpkin guessing competition where you had to guess the weight of a pumpkin which was grown in the CatholiCare Community garden," said CatholicCare Taree Manager Helga Smit. "There was much interest in this and the winner guessed the correct weight of 4.8kg – lots of pumpkin soup at their place on the weekend!"

A total of $157.55 was raised on the day for cancer research, prevention and support services.
