Diocesan Public Speaking Competition 2012

The second Diocesan Public Speaking Competition was held in late October and the interest and participation rate was double that of last year. Nearly every Region held a Regional final and students were selected to attend the Diocesan Final in each Stage, a maximum of 2 per stage from Early Stage 1 to Stage 3.

There were 36 students in total competing. Students in the ES1 and S1 groups presented a prepared speech and speakers from the S2 and S3 groups presented two speeches – a prepared and impromptu speech. The prepared speeches were all written on the day of the competition.

The adjudicators were Drs John and Anna Hill, accomplished toastmasters and public speaking enthusiasts. They gave the students individual feedback and commendation, as well as group feedback.
