Catholic Mission Mass

Catholic Mission, in partnership with St James' Primary School Kotara, will host a Mission Mass for schools of the diocese during Mission Month in October.

Catholic Mission Mass

The Liturgy is designed as a celebration of the work of Mission and the contribution our schools make during the year to outreach; assisting developing communities around the world, through Catholic Mission.

Two Masses are planned for this year - one for the Lower Hunter / Newcastle area to be held at St Philip's Church, Vista Parade, Kotara on Wednesday, 24 October at 11.30am and the other for schools of the Upper Hunter at St Catherine's Church, Queen Street, Singleton on Wednesday, 31 October at 11.30am.

We expect around 450 students and teachers to attend the Newcastle liturgy and around 200 at Singleton.

Parents, other relatives and associated business representatives are most welcome. Please advise your local school if you can attend.

Mr Bruce Dynan, filmmaker and photographer, who has been producing the appeal DVDs for Catholic Mission for a number of years, will speak about his most recent experience in the Philippines and reflect upon the work of the Church in the communities visited.

For more information contact Barry or Claudette at the Catholic Mission Office on 4979 1142 or 4979 1141.

Barry Urwin
