Beginning Theology - Study Theology at Home

If you are in search of answers to some of life's big questions and challenges, or if you want to delve more deeply into your relationship with God then Beginning Theology may be just the course for you.

Beginning Theology is a nationally recognised Certificate III in Theology which is now offered in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. This introduction to theology is designed for anyone who has no formal theological background but wishes to benefit from an introduction to theology in the Catholic tradition.

Beginning Theology contains four easy-to-follow modules on God, the Word of God, the People of God and Following Jesus Christ. The course is designed to enable you to study at home but to meet regularly with a discussion group of local people.

In this local discussion group members share their own life experience, their learnings and their difficulties. A local support person (mentor) with a background in theology will assist your group.

The course runs for twelve months but is highly flexible and can be broken down into shorter periods if time is not available.

Participants have the option to study at the Certificate III level or to do the course for their own interest (auditing the course). The cost of the course is $80.00 per module and participants receive study notes and all relevant readings for the programme.
