The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and its agencies (CatholicCare, Catholic Schools Office, the Catholic Development Fund, St Nicholas Early Education, Chancery and Parishes) is a not-for-profit organisation which services the community through a diverse range of services.

The property team currently have a range of diverse and exciting projects, some include:
• Early Education Learning Centres.
• Residential affordable housing developments.
• Disability Group Homes.
• Small to medium office fit outs for Diocese agencies.
• Commercial developments.

We currently have a rare opportunity available for a new Project Officer to assist the Project Manager / Architect on daily contracts administration and project tasks, while also having the opportunity to manage minor projects as directed.

We’re looking for someone who can work across a wide range of areas, include property development, master planning, project planning and management, commercial development, facilities management and maintenance. Essential Criteria
  • Hold a Bachelors Degree in Construction Management.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience in the construction industry.
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of head contracts.
  • Administer projects to ensure a timely and efficient completion of the head contract and subcontracts.
  • Assist in organising contracts, processing quotes and updating variations.
  • To assess and recommend building and construction tender outcomes.
  • To assess and recommend relevant consultant proposals.
  • Possess a high level of computer literacy in the use of MS Office products including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access and Outlook.
  • Ability to programme and estimate projects.
  • To track project budget performance and assist in controlling costs.
  • To track project progress against contract program and report monthly.
  • Excellent time management & organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and manage several tasks at one time in order to meet a deadline.
  • Capacity to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability of computer literacy, filing and record.
  • Hold a current NSW drivers licence.
  • Hold a current white card.

This position will be full-time on a 3 year maximum-term contract.

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 TRP (subject to skills and experience).
